Stay at home

If you want to stay home and enjoy your special Valentine I am going to suggest a wine from the France, one of the most loved countries in all the world and what lady wouldn’t want to love a Baron?

Baron Thomas Saint Estephe 2002 is normally about $45 and you can obtain it at East Market Street and Shrewsbury for only $29.99.  Surprise that love in your live with this elegant dark ruby colored wine.  It is well balanced with an earthy smell and had a long finish that you will certainly enjoy.  This is a Bordeaux wine from the left bank and it won’t last long with its limited quantities.  This would pair well with beef or spicy food and even an evening in front of the fireplace.

When I think of places where love has blossomed in my life, Italy is certainly on the list.  Available on East Market St., Hanover, and Shrewsbury is Villa Mora Montefalco Rosso Riserva 2008 for $14.99.  This wine received 90 points with Wine Spectator and 89 with Wine Enthusiast.  This wine would be great to snuggle with your loved one on Valentine’s Day.  This is a silky medium bodied red with a dark color.  See if you taste some interesting notes of nutmeg, cherry, mocha and spiced cranberry.

What will I be drinking on Feb. 14 you ask?  I have a bottle of 2012 Ehlers Estate 1886 Cabernet Sauvignon that I have been saving for a special occasion. This wine is very well balanced. It is big and round, complex, yet layered. A baguette, this wine and dinner is served.

Happy ValenWine Day to all the lovers out there.
